Frisco Collector Ornaments Available for Sale
The 2008 Friends of the Frisco Public Library Collector Ornament is now available at the library and at the Frisco Heritage Museum. This year’s ornament is a colorful 3D rendering of Frisco’s gazebo and clock tower on Main Street. Ask about it at the library.
Silent Auction Benefits Spears

McKinney Volunteer Honored
Virginia Barrett of McKinney was named 2008 Texas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Volunteer of the Year. The award recognizes the volunteer who has, among other things, made a significant contribution in helping abused and neglected children.
Frisco City Council Ready for Its Close-up
You can learn about the issues facing Frisco by tuning in to the award-winning cable access channel and watching our city leaders at work. City Council Meetings air Tuesdays at 9 a.m., Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. on Frisco’s Government Access Channel (FGAC), Time Warner Cable Channel 16 or Grande Cable Channel 12.

The new Mexican-inspired restaurant in the The Shops at Starwood is named for Chef Beto Rodarte’s grandmother, Petra. No word on whether it’s her margarita recipe they serve.
Clothe-a-Child Helps Record Crowd
A record number of children took part in Clothe-a-Child last month at Kohls Department Store in Frisco. John Taylor, one of the group’s organizers, says more than 1400 children got school clothes, shoes and other essentials at the event which is sponsored by area churches, Kohls, Starbucks, and Krispy Kreme Donuts.
Enormous Pumpkin Patch Takes over Dr. Pepper Ballpark
Frisco RoughRiders partnered with Owens for the first annual “Pumpkin Patch” at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Over 4,000 adults and children enjoyed hay rides, face painting and other activities at last month’s event. The outfield was turned into a pumpkin patch with pumpkins sprawling from foul line to foul line.
